It’s Sunday, an anniversary, and we're going to the beach. We take parasols, chairs, beer. We spread civilization on the beach. We spread ourselves on the beach—we conquer it. We were nomads; now we're settlers. We start a war. We civilize nature and smother our own nature in civilization until we can’t stand ourselves anymore. But still this has to work: a perfect family day on the beach.

Córtez is a deviced theatre piece created during a three-months residency in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain and especially designed for the Alcazar.

It gathers a group of international performers and designers from Central Saint Martins, London.
